Phra Chai

1. A name sometimes used by monks for statues of the Buddha, for example, Phra Chai Kieow Keaw from Luang Phor Kalong
2. A name given to a centuries-old form of Buddha statues that ancient soldiers carried in their pockets to provide blessings and victory. They believed the statues provided them with blessings and protection to win wars. Statues which the soldiers placed for worship in the camp were known as Phra Ruerk.
