Niroj Samabat
It is known as Nirodha Samapatti in Pali, which is loosely translated as the attainment of total detachment from feelings and perception. It is the temporary suspension of all consciousness and mental activity, which follows immediately upon the 8th Jhana, “The State of Neither Perception Nor Non-Perception”. Jhanas are states of extreme focus. It is stated in the Buddhist teachings that only Anagamin or Arahants are able to achieve Niroj Samabat.
