Namassakara

  1. Also known as Namasakarn in Thai. Sometimes used as a greeting, eg “Namasakarn Luang Phor Hong…”
  2. Preliminary homage to the Buddha, usually recited before any other kathas. The verses are recited as, “Namo tassa bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa”, meaning “Homage to the Blessed One, Free from Defilements, the Rightly Self-Awakened One
