Mutita
Also known as Mudita in the Pali Buddhist scriptures. It is known as one of the 4 Immeasurables. These are so-named because their practice brings immeasurable merits and benefits. Mudita is appreciative/sympathetic joy, rejoicing in the happiness and success of others. The 4 Immeasurables are;
- Loving-kindness or benevolence (metta)
- Compassion (karuna)
- Empathetic joy (mudita)
- Equanimity (upekkha)
