Mai Mayom
Wood from the Star Gooseberry tree. It is believed that if you grow Star Gooseberry in the front-facing, westernmost section of your home, it will make people love you. Mayom sounds like Niyom, which means “Popular”. Mai Mayom is useful for driving away evil spirits. Twigs from the tree may be deleafed and used as a cane to hit a possessed person and drive out the evil spirit. Its wood may also be used to make Rak Yom. If a Mayom tree is found dead and standing upright, it is the perfect ingredient for Seneh Yafed.
