King Yama

The God of Death, Also known as YomMaBan in Thai.

Upon their death, all beings are summoned before Yama. Their lives and deeds are examined, and an appropriate reward or punishment is meted out.

In Mahayana Buddhism, he is considered to be one of the Dhammapalas (guardian protectors), who protect Buddhist devotees.
