Scadoxus Multiflorus, that is harvested and ground into powder. The Thais also call this plant Hua Wan Gumanthong.
It was said that the legendary warrior Khun Paen had many wives. One of his wives bore a stillborn child. Khun Paen took the dead child to be buried under his house. After a year, it was found that there was a plant growing out of the spot where the child was buried. From then on, Thais began to call this plant “Ton Hua Wan Gumanthong”.
